Mastering the Nikon D800
I am super excited to announce that one of my photos will be published in the new “Mastering the Nikon D800″ book by Darrell Young.
Darrell Young is an author of Nikon Camera books and has published 6 other Nikon Camera books in the last few years. Books like “Mastering the Nikon D7000″ was very popular among D7000 owners.
The Nikon D800 is the worlds first 36mp DSLR and a very demanding camera. The Nikon D800 has been one of the most anticipated cameras in many years and the waiting period to get one of these Cameras was anywhere between 2 and 5 months. Darrell got his hands on one of the very first D800’s available and started testing the Camera so that he would be able to start writing his new book as soon as possible. The D800 can be an overwhelmingly complex camera. Darrell’s goal in writing this book was to help the reader get the best use out of the over abundance of features available.
Darrell is a member of the group Nikonians – www.nikonians.org which has several thousand members world wide. Darrell asked the group to submit photos taken with the Nikon D800 that could be used as chapter opening for his new book. At first there were only a few submissions, but as the D800 became more readily available, photo submissions started to stream in and Darrell had hundreds of photos to choose from for the 13 chapters in his book.
I am very excited that one of my photos, which is a photo of my son Tristan, would be the opening photo for chapter 4 in the new “Mastering the Nikon D800″ book.
I would like to thank Darell Young for choosing my photo out of hundreds of other submissions to be the opening chapter image of one of his 13 chapters. Mastering the Nikon D800 will be available on August 28 2012.

Windsor engagement shoot
This past weekend, we did a Windsor engagement shoot like we have never done before: on construction equipment. Brian is a heavy machine operator and they decided to incorporate the construction equipment into their engagement shoot. The shoot was done at Nortrax in Windsor, which sells John Deere equipment. There are so many places to do engagement shoots in Windsor, and we always encourage the couple to do an engagement shoot that has meaning for them and not just a park or something because everybody else goes there. Malana and Brian found something very unique for their Windsor engagement shoot and we had lots of fun taking photos of them on all the heavy equipment.

Thanks to Nortrax Windsor for allowing us to shoot on their property and use their equipment.
Windsor Boudoir Photography – We’re bringing sexy back!
This past weekend, we did 4 back to back Boudoir photography sessions at the Hilton hotel in downtown Windsor. At Jaques Scheepers Photography, we do work with models sometimes; but most of our clients are not professional models. They are every day people, and most of them are brides and women. And unfortunately, most of them will find things about themselves that they are self-conscious about and they usually have insecurities. The purpose of boudoir sessions is to bring out the inner diva and to make her feel beautiful. No matter of age, size, body shape, all women are beautiful and the shoot is designed to bring up her self-esteem.

Caboto Club Wedding – Tauseef and Naveed
Last week Richelle and I did our first 2-day Pakistani wedding. Tauseef and Naveed are the first of their family to get married in Canada and they went all out to make this day special for everybody. Day one was the actual wedding with a celebration dinner at the Caboto club in Windsor. Day two was the reception celebration at the Caboto Club and all their friends and family were invited to share this special occasion with them. Tauseef’s brother, Tauseeq did an amazing job putting the 2 day wedding together at the Caboto Club. Tauseef looked amazing in her yellow dress on day one and her red dress on day two. The most emotional part of these two days was watching the family say good-bye to the bride, symbolizing her leaving her family to now be joined to her husband. It was very touching, as you can tell here in the last picture as her brother says his good-bye.

Mezzo Restaurant Wedding – Kit and James
Kit and James’ wedding was very special. We started the day off at Pier 41 Bed & Breakfast in Amherstburg, where the couple dedicated their lives to one another on the waterfront. All their friends and family from Windsor and Hong Kong admired the couple and loved the ceremony venue. Next, we took photos of this sweet couple over at Ojibway Park, where they got to enjoy some time alone. The reception was held at Mezzo Restaurant. We knew that Mezzo Restaurant did events and weddings, but had never been personally. What a perfect quaint venue for a small wedding. The couple enjoyed every minute of going table to table and guest to guest, greeting them and showing them gratitude for coming to their special day. Next up is Kit’s “Trash the dress” shoot, Cant wait

Windsor Arabic wedding – Ala and Youcef
This past weekend was a very busy weekend for Jaques Scheepers Photography with 2 weddings and an engagement party. First wedding for the weekend was on Friday with Ala and Youcef. It was a very hot day here in Windsor, but luckily all photos were taken inside where we were protected from the scorching sun.
Richelle and I love Arabic weddings. Some cultures just know how to party and Ala and Youcef’s wedding was no exception. The dancing started early and everybody was on the dance floor dancing the night away. We had so much fun taking photos of them at the Ciociaro Club in Windsor.
